What are 'Update Exams' or 'Update Questions'?

Update questions are the most recent questions that we are working on in a law or trade course.  In many cases, we prefer to release questions in update form than as a finished test because it's the fastest way to get new questions to you (we don't have to take the time to reformat the questions, cross-reference them, etc).  Update questions are important and quite often the key to passing the exam, as they are generally the latest questions to be released by the State.  However, relying on the update questions alone to pass the exam is not advised or recommended.  Studying Update questions alone will not ensure successfully passing the State exam.

How long does it take to Complete the Course?

The preparation time will vary with each person.  On average most students spend approx. 20-25 hours in study and review time depending on their individual needs.  

Once you complete the course you will be ready to PASS the Contractor License state exam.  Normally the state takes approx. 6-8 weeks from the time they receive your application to schedule you for a test date. We recommend that you continue to review your Contractor License Course materials prior to your test date.

Note: The CSLB is currently back logged processing applications.  It's now taking approx. 3 months to get a test date with the state from the time they receive your application.
